Worship Masterclass

Why did I choose to film this course?

I love being involved in the worship ministry in church because it’s in that space where my understanding of who God is morphs into knowing God personally. I discovered early on that it’s not until you worship Him that you start to engage in relationship with Him. To know about Him is one thing but to know Him personally is where our divine existence starts to get real.

After many years of serving as a musician in the church, I sensed at the start of this year that it was the right time to film this course because of the nature in which God is moving right now.

Times are in such a state of flux and many things are being redefined from the definition of success to the future of church expression. The majority of discussion seems to be around what is changing and these changes could be in the form of how we now approach ministry to a greater emphasis on discipleship or even the rejection of a shallow spirituality.

However, in the midst of all these changes I believe that it’s equally important to emphasise and preserve the particles of our faith that never change. This is a time of entering the kingdom realm of fatherhood and sonship and a time of revelation. A life submerged in this realm leads us to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the prophetic nature of worship as an art form as we endeavour to equip, train and disciple a future of chief musicians and prophetic songbirds.

This course will teach people the ways of the spirit and the Davidic anointing that flows from the place of intimacy, authenticity and hosting the Holy Spirit on their instrument. It will give them keys to grow in their prophetic skills as ministers and musicians within their worship ministry as they begin to embody the songs they sing and become a move of God that doesn’t rely on song writing alone. It will equip them as they evolve from the raw mechanics of worship, admin and responsibility to prefer and practice the presence of God and transition in to becoming prophets who play instruments and sing. It’s in this paradigm where they can discover the key of David, the timelessness of God and the fulfilment around the spontaneity in worship where the great urgency of the hour is actualised and responded to.

I believe it will help musicians of all ages and stages to develop the skills around improvisation and dynamics in worship, holding patterns, spontaneous communication on their instrument and the desire to go into a deeper anointing in worship and to take others with them.
